Oregano
Oregano, a woody shrub native to the Mediterranean, has been delightfully infused with extra virgin olive oil. This oil is a great addition to pizza bases and pasta sauces. It also makes a tasty salad dressing base or try it in a quiche!
Dipping Oil for Italian Bread
¼ cup Oregano Olive Oil
5 cloves garlic
2 T. Balsamic Vinegar
2 T. Parmesan Vinegar
Fresh black pepper
Pour oil on plate. Press garlic cloves into oil. Drizzle with balsamic over the oil and garlic. Sprinkle with cheese and season with the pepper.
Easy Pizza Crust
2 c. flour
4 T. OLIVE MILL Oregano oil
7/8 cup hot water
1 t. salt
1 t. yeast
2 t. sugar
Mix in bowl while preparing toppings. Spread on floured pizza pan and continue with sauce, seasonings, toppings, cheese, etc. Bake at 450 degrees 18-20 minutes. Makes one pizza crust.
Grilled Oregano Shrimp
¼ cup OLIVE MILL Oregano Oil
2 small red onions
24 peeled and deveined large shrimp (about 1 pound)
Prepare grill. Stir together oil and salt and pepper in a bowl. Cut onion lengthwise into 3/4 " wedges and separate layers. Toss shrimp and onion with oil mixture, then thread 6 shrimp onto 4 long metal skewers, alternating with a single layer of onion. Grill shrimp, covered only if using gas grill, turning once, until just cooked through, 3-4 minutes total.
Mushroom Sauté
2 ½ T. Oregano Olive Oil
½ t. Traditional Balsamic
1 clove garlic
1/8 t. dried oregano
1 lb. mushrooms, sliced
Heat on and balsamic in sauté pan. Stir in garlic oregano and mushrooms. Saute for 20-30 minutes.
Spicy Roast Chicken
3 lb. whole chicken
2 T. Oregano olive oil
¼ t. salt and pepper
¼ t.each basil, paprika and cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 450. Rinse chicken and remove fat. Pat dry. Put chicken in baking pan. Rub with oil, mix seasoning together and sprinkle over chicken. Roast for 20 minutes, reduce heat to 400 and continue cooking for 40 minutes until thoroughly cooked. Let cool and serve.
